Thekchen Choling Kota Tinggi – Meditation Paradise

In late 2013, a 2-acre piece of land in Tai Hong Village Kota Tinggi was offered to Singha Rinpoche the Spiritual Director of Thekchen Choling (Singapore) and this marked the birth of Thekchen Choling Kota Tinggi Meditation Centre. Nestled between plantations and gardens, the temple is a serene paradise for everyone. The highlight of the temple is the magnificent, inspiring and beautiful statue of Thousand-Armed Chenrezig (Kuan Yin) which stands 36 feet tall (about 4 stories high) . This largest statue of Kuan Yin in Southeast Asia is beautifully adorned with pearls, corals, turquoise and dzi-beads.

The most important practice in Mahayana Buddhism is that of the cultivation of bodhicitta, the wish to attain enlightenment to benefit all beings. Here in the spacious main hall that can seat 500 people comfortably, is an ideal location for meditation, prayer and reflection on Buddha’s teachings and a refuge from the stresses and challenges of daily life. For the serious practitioner of Buddha’s teachings , retreat rooms are available with supporting facilities, ideal for individual and group retreats.

The temple grounds also has the eight great stupas also filled with holy objects. Walking around these brings great immeasurable benefit. Also around the temple are many prayer wheels and inspiring statues of Buddhas . Plans are underway to construct large prayer wheels with millions of mantra . Spiritual masters Singha Rinpoche, his Gurus Kyabje Jhado Tulku Rinpoche, Kyabje Dagri Rinpoche and may other great Geshes and spiritual practitioners have all made prayers here for anyone who visits . This means that all visitors to this holy place are blessed with their prayers to benefit anyone who comes to this temple with all auspiciousness,.
